Storyist Software Application Privacy Policy

This page describes the information that may be collected by versions of Storyist prior to version 4.2, how we may use it, and how you can opt out if you want to. What information do we collect?

With your permission, Storyist for macOS and Storyist for iOS may automatically collect:

Diagnostics and Usage Information

When you first run the app, Storyist will ask for permission to share diagnostics and usage information with us. If you agree, Storyist can collect the following:

We use Crashlytics, a crash reporting and analytics product from Google Inc, to collect this information. Google may aggregate the information in a non-­personally identifiable way in accordance with their privacy policy.

If you're running a version of Storyist for macOS downloaded from the Storyist website and have enabled automatic software update checking, Storyist can also collect basic system information when checking for updates. This information may include:

If you don’t want Storyist for macOS to collect this information, you can opt-out by opening the General pane of the Storyist preferences window and setting the Check for Updates popup to Manual.

Note: For apps downloaded from the App Store or Mac App Store, update checking is handled by the operating system, not the app, so you won't see a setting for it in the preferences window.

In-App Purchases

Storyist for macOS and Storyist for iOS both use in-app purchases to unlock the app after the free trial period ends.

Versions of Storyist for macOS downloaded from the Storyist website use software from Paddle to process these purchases.

If you choose to purchase a license in the app, you will be asked to provide the personal information necessary to complete the transaction. This information includes:

Rights of EU Citizens Under GDPR
